BIOMASS
Biomass boilers burn wood pellets from sustainable sources and create an environmentally friendly carbon cycle
BENEFITS OF BIOMASS HEATING
There is no better time to save money on your energy by going green. Biomass heating is an extremely effective and reliable renewable energy solution.
Modern solution to lower fuel costs
Wood fuel is clean and carbon neutral
Cheaper to run than Oil or LPG alternatives
Ideal to use with underfloor heating
Independence from fluctuating energy prices
Generates low levels of atmospheric pollutants
UK sourced wood fuel supports local business and the rural community
Great option if there is no gas supply (off grid)

BIOMASS HEATING
What is Biomass Heating?
Biomass provides all your heating and hot water, with a clean and sustainable fuel. Therefore, eliminating the requirement for fossil fuel. A biomass boiler heating system burns wood pellets to provide heat throughout a home. It is connected to the central heating and hot water system. Subsequently, a biomass boiler is used in place of a standard gas or oil boiler to heat radiators. A wood-fuelled biomass boiler could save homeowners significantly when compared to an old electric heating system.
Modern biomass boilers are almost completely automated. They light, feed and even clean themselves, requiring only an annual service. Simple heating controls run the heating and hot water just as a conventional system.

Why is Biomass a ‘Green’ Solution?
At first glance the idea of burning wood does not seem like a ‘Green’ solution. However, burning biomass fuel creates a carbon cycle and removes the need for burning fossil fuels. When we burn fossil fuels, large carbon stores are removed from the earth and pumped into the atmosphere. This raises the level of C02 and increases global warming. When we burn biomass fuel we release the same amount of C02 which was absorbed from the atmosphere by the plant. It also releases the same amount of C02 as would be released through a natural cycle of decay.
The diagram here shows how a Biomass system fits into the natural carbon cycle:-
CONNECTS TO CENTRAL HEATING
Biomass boilers can easily be intergrated into existing heating systems.
Biomass Work With Existing Radiators?
Biomass boilers can be installed onto an existing heating system, although some radiators may need to be replaced with a larger model to accommodate. Furthermore, we recommend aluminium radiators for use with biomass heating. Aluminium is an effective conductor and heats up very quickly. Therefore, transmitting heat into the room much more rapidly than steel or cast iron radiators.
Additionally, it is important to make sure that the system has been cleaned thoroughly.

Great With Underfloor Heating
An underfloor heating system uses water heated at a much lower tempature in comparison to a traditional radiator system. For example, a radiator system needs to use water that is much hotter (70-80°C). Whereas, underfloor heating water is heated to approximately 40°C.
Therefore, this makes a biomass boiler and underfloor heating a perfect combination. It will help maximise the biomass boiler efficiency.
Better with Smart Heating Controls
Smart heating controls allow users to remotely control their central heating systems. Therefore, it is an extremely effective and reliable renewable energy solution putting the user in full control. The smart heating controls link up to the A-rated boiler or renewable heating system to improve efficiency and reduce the amount of wasted heat. Furthermore, users can operate heating remotely by using devices such as a smart phone, tablet or a PC.

INSTALLATION
Biomass systems can work in most properties replacing gas or oil boilers. Biomass boilers can be connected to existing heating systems with minimum disturbance.
Additionally, for large homes and business premises with adequate space, a large biomass heating system can provide substantial financial savings and significantly lower carbon footprint. Biomass boilers are a particularly attractive option for properties with no mains gas supply. Additionally, for schools and larger properties, large biomass systems can be a good viable option for communal projects.
However, biomass boiler systems are not suitable for every property. This is due to the space requirements needed compared with conventional gas boilers. Small urban houses or apartments are unlikely to be suitable for biomass heating. Moreover, if a property does not have an existing wet heating system, then it may become very costly. An air source heat pump or other renewable energy solutions maybe a better option in this case.

Great service. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.
The team did a super job. There was no hard sell, Jamie was very helpful, guided us through the process and made the transaction painless. The installation was carried out by Ian and Tara who were a great team. Ian was super helpful even fixing a few things that were not part of the installation he had expert knowledge and did a super job… really pleased.
